ACT MPs forced to scour world for voters

Grant Gillon MP is stunned that the perk-busting anti-business ACT party is sending its MPs overseas during the election campaign.

“I know ACT voters are hard to come by in New Zealand but the thought of MPs scouring the world to find ACT voters is bizarre.

“Richard Prebble sees his only hope of being in the next parliament is to find out-of-touch kiwis in Australia, Hong Kong and the United Kingdom.

“No doubt Ken Shirley will be combing London bars and clubs looking for kiwis, while Richard Prebble spends his 48 hours doing the same in Hong Kong.

“Are any of the longer serving ACT MPs going to use subsidised travel for these jaunts?

“I would like an assurance that any expenses incurred on these trips will be deducted from their campaign expenditure limits. It may be a waste of money but I would like to be sure it’s not public money,” said Grant Gillon.
