Kiwibank provides excellent competition for the
benefit of
New Zealanders
"Since Kiwibank has
joined the retail banking industry, more bank branches have
reopened and fee rises have been stemmed or even reversed,"
Progressive leader Jim Anderton said today.
The Progressive leader was responding to the latest Consumer Magazine edition that has rated Kiwibank as "The Best Bank in New Zealand".
"Kiwibank is providing excellent competition not only in fees and customer service, but also for mortgages. Consume calls them 'the clear best choice for mortgage holders.'
"With 300 operating branches nationwide, Kiwibank has 100 more branches than any other bank in New Zealand. Overall access to banking services in our country has been greatly improved because of Kiwibank's presence. Not only are there more branches, but there are longer opening hours including service on Saturdays.
"Banking in New Zealand is clearly better because of the New Zealand-owned bank, Kiwibank," Jim Anderton said.
