Assistant Speaker to attend Pacific Forum Presiding Officers’ Conference
Assistant Speaker Ross Robertson, MP, will represent New Zealand at the 6th forum of Presiding Officers and Clerks in Rarotonga next week.
The Speaker, Hon Margaret Wilson, said the Forum, set up to help good governance in the Pacific, had value as it involves all Pacific countries, not just Commonwealth countries.
The agenda includes sessions on improving electoral systems, strengthening forum island countries’ legislatures and a comparative review of their political structures.
