2 March 2012
Hon Trevor Mallard and Richard Prosser MP will be representing the New Zealand Parliament at the annual Westminster Seminar on Practice and Procedure, Speaker, Dr The Rt Hon Lockwood Smith, announced today.
The Westminster Seminar is hosted by the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association United Kingdom Branch and is in its sixty-first year.
“The breadth of the session topics covered in the Westminster Seminar is unparalleled in parliamentary events. It provides an excellent opportunity for our members of Parliament to increase their knowledge about the origins of our parliamentary traditions and learn from their Commonwealth colleagues about how these traditions have been adapted in other legislatures”, Speaker Smith said.
The seminar is held at the Houses of Parliament in London and runs from 5 to 10 March 2012.
