Greens Urge People To Come Together For Transformational Change
Green Party co-leader Chlöe Swarbrick has rallied the party membership to get out there, get organised, and help the party build the most progressive Government Aotearoa has ever seen.
“When we show up and grow our movement beyond traditional circles, we win. The people win,” Chlöe Swarbrick told the Party’s Annual General Meeting in Te Whanganui-a-Tara, Wellington today.
“New Zealanders care about each other and the planet we all share.
“We build the world we deserve not in speeches, or in social media comment sections. We build it in our every day, practicing our values, connecting, and working with other people.
“Those banking on the climate crisis and deep inequality will invest everything they’ve got in telling us it’s impossible. They need us to believe that. They need us fighting our fellow New Zealanders. They need us to not look up.
“Christopher Luxon’s Government comes up with a new way to make people angry every single day. But there is far too much at stake for us to wallow in anger. We need action, from all of you.
“Change only happens by reminding ourselves, again and again, that we are capable of doing it. We do that best when we just do it. When we take a deep breath and work together to do the damn thing,” said Chlöe Swarbrick
