Socialism Lives In Young Labour
The Vice-President of Young Labour has reported that socialism is alive and well inside Young Labour.
Jordan Carter, Young Labour Vice-President, has described socialist ideas as a "robust statement of values" in the latest edition of Young Labour's e-mail circular, 'Future Lefts'. The President of Prebble's Rebels, Clint Heine, said that the views of Mr Carter were out of touch with today's society, and especially the views of young people.
"Old-fashioned socialism has no place in a modern democratic society" Mr Heine said.
"The ideas of Mr Carter and his comrades in Young Labour are dated, out of touch and morally bankrupt. Socialism has nothing to offer New Zealand. In a global society we need to be more competitive than ever, but by following the blind socialist doctrine we will crush Kiwi ingenuity and break the New Zealand spirit."
"Mr Carter, by revelling in a dead ideology, is only reliving a hollow dream which young people have already woken up from. If Mr Carter is supposed to be the voice of youth to the new government, then it will be a fruitless three years for young people" Mr Heine said.
