TVNZ Responds To Hawkesby
TVNZ MEDIA RELEASE
For immediate release
In
response to comments made by Mr Hawkesby today, Rick Ellis
1. Not an employment contract, but a commercial contract with his company.
2. We went to arbitration because that is what the contract provided for, and both parties agreed to go to arbitration.
3. We have already filed for appeal, and Mr Hawkesby’s lawyers have been provided with a copy of this.
4. In light of the media and public attention, TVNZ has asked to waive confidentiality as TVNZ would be prepared to release the full arbitrator’s award and appeal notice which includes the circumstances surrounding Mr Hawkesby’s termination.
