TEAC: MORE OF THE SAME?
The Chief Executive of the New Zealand Manufacturers Federation, Simon Carlaw, today expressed disappointment that the Government had ignored a rare and valuable opportunity for real business and industry input into future policy directions for the tertiary education sector.
Mr Carlaw was commenting on the announcement of membership of the Tertiary Education Advisory Commission.
“Education is the single most critical input into New Zealand’s future, much needed, economic growth. There are major issues across the sector that require better solutions than those forthcoming in the past only from the education system.
“We hope at least that the Commission might decide to seek expertise from business and industry in the course of its work.”
