Great News
"$2.8m in new funding to reduce child abuse is great news," said Roger McClay Commissioner for Children today. "All the talk, anguish and protestation seems worthwhile when real responses such as this are forthcoming" he said.
"I compliment and thank Social Services and Employment Minister Steve Maharey and Health Minister Annette King and their colleagues. Children deserve such enhanced consideration," he said.
Mr McClay was commenting on yesterday's announcement that the Government is investing $2.8m over three years in community-based child abuse and family violence community education programmes.
