Speaker: Murray Horton
Monday July 1, 8 P.M.
Knox Presbyterian Church Hall
28 Bealey Avenue, Christchurch
Murray Horton is the organiser for the Campaign Against Foreign Control of Aotearoa (CAFCA), based in Christchurch. He speaks on the fundamental issues that are not being addressed by politicians or the mainstream media:
a.. Corporate globalisation and the transnational corporations and international institutions which drive it. This is the greatest threat to peace and democracy.
a.. War, the inevitable outcome of the whole process.
a.. The election. Where are our politicians taking New Zealand?
a.. And, most importantly, what we can do about these issues.
Murray Horton has been a leading political activist since 1969, both in New Zealand and overseas. He is a graduate of the University of Canterbury and has worked in many jobs, including more than 14 years as a Railways labourer (and union official). He has been the fulltime organiser for CAFCA and the Anti-Bases Campaign since 1991, being editor of both Foreign Control Watchdog and Peace Researcher.
CAFCA has been researching and campaigning since the 1970s to expose and oppose all aspects of foreign control in this country. CAFCA is Leftwing, progressive nationalist, internationalist and anti-imperialist. It is independent of all political parties. CAFCA is recognised as the country’s leading authority on foreign control.
