MEDIA RELEASE
WOMEN APPLAUD TAMIHERE
The National Council of Women of New Zealand (NCWNZ) applauds the Hon John Tamihere for his timely call for men to take responsibility for their role in society.
"That a Minister is willing to bring the discussion into the public arena is a positive step that can only result in a better New Zealand community" said Beryl Anderson, President NCWNZ.
"Women through the Government's Action Plan for Women recognised the importance of connection and relationships within society. It is time that men recognise that it is those connections and relationships that bind society and that they need to be an active partner," added Beryl Anderson.
"Working for the betterment of society through partnerships is a New Zealand trait and one we all should be proud to accomplish together."
