Joris de Bres Must Go

Libertarianz Leader Bernard Darnton today called for Race Relations Commissioner Joris de Bres to resign, and for New Zealand to abandon the "apartheid-touting" United Nations.

Referring to de Bres' call for state-sponsored "advancement of certain racial groups" "Mr Darnton says that "de Bres has once again displayed the politically correct separatist view that is doing nothing but destroying race relations in this country. His continual support for taxpayer-funded race based policies demonstrates once again his ongoing enthusiasm for state-sponsored apartheid."

Darnton continues: "Successive governments have succumbed to buying race-based votes with taxpayers money - about which de Bres has given silent approval - but with the announced abandonment of a few of these programmes de Bres now declares he is worried. Perhaps he sees an end to his own comfortable gravy train?"

In conclusion, Darnton says that "Libertarianz call for an immediate end to all race based funding and to all race-based legislation. Everyone must be treated equally before the law no matter what their race or ethnic background - good law is colour blind. If de Bres and the United Nations Human Rights obligations mean that race-based law must continue in NZ, then NZ support for de Bres and the UN should cease."
