Americans In Wellington View Presidential Debate
The Wellington chapter of Americans Overseas for Kerry-Edwards announced today that they will be hosting a Presentational Debate viewing event 14 October 2004 at JJ Murphy & Co. Irish Pub at 119 - 123 Cuba Street, Wellington at 2 PM. US citizens will be gathering to view the live satellite television broadcast. A discussion of the debate will follow.
Ronald Nelson, New Zealand Chair of Americans Overseas for Kerry (www.AOKerry.com) said, “ It’s been wonderful to see John Kerry taking the upper hand in these debates. Americans are seeing the real John Kerry without the Republican smokescreen. While Democrats give Americans real solutions to real issues, Bush and the Republicans repeat the same simplistic rhetoric over and over again.“
Sophie Richardson, a New Yorker who has been registering fellow Americans for the election and Chair of the Wellington AOK Chapter said, “Many of the 15,000 Americans here in New Zealand have registered at www.OverseasVote2004.com. They will be standing with the millions at home in their support of John Kerry on the Election Day 2 November. We need a smarter America that can be respected around the world.”
