Destiny Impacts Waitangi
Destiny New Zealand stole the show from the major parties through an impassioned speech by party leader Richard Lewis at the lower marae in Waitangi, today.
Lewis pointed out that the party had travelled to honour the occasion and stressed the importance of Te Tiriti O Waitangi being a covenant between the Crown and Maori. Key points of his message focused on unity, restoration and a positive way forward.
Lewis's speech was followed by a 100 strong haka which gripped the entire marae with its powerful and positive message of unity and hope. Even the rain could not dampen the mood of more than 300 enthusiastic Destiny supporters that had come along to celebrate Waitangi day.
Destiny NZ will be attending Waitangi day commemorations, a highlight being the official church service at which Pastor Brian Tamaki, the Senior Minister of Destiny Churches, will be a keynote speaker.
