Call to Fly National Flag on St Patrick’s Day
Thursday 17 March is St Patrick’s Day. This has become one of the major cultural festivals marked in this country. It is also an official flag flying day.
The New Zealand Flag Institute calls upon New Zealanders to fly our national flag when they celebrate St Patrick’s Day.
There is no better occasion than a celebration of cultural identity to show pride in our country. The flag is a pre-eminent legacy of our shared heritage, and continues to be a potent symbol of national unity. It should be proudly flown on the 17th.
