Progressive Candidate Selected for Whangarei
Vivienne Shepherd has been selected as the Progressive Party candidate in Whangarei in this year's general election where she will be campaigning for party votes, the party's deputy leader, Hon. Matt Robson MP, said today.
"I'm delighted that Vivienne will carry the Progressive banner this election. Viv is one of those candidates who will be really noticed because of her extraordinary energy and enthusiasm for the universal values that Progressive stands for," Matt Robson said.
"Our party is driving the coalition government's regional development policies as well as the government's programmes aimed at turning the tide against alcohol and other drug abuse within our communities.
"Viv wants your party vote so that we can continue to deliver strong regional development policies, can continue to take the tough decisions on youth binge drinking and other youth drug problems, can invest more to financially assist tertiary graduates battling under the burden of debt and can lobby for new pro-jobs policies inside government like cutting the company tax rate to match Australia's," Matt Robson said.
