Tax cuts vs public spending call puts Parties in a bind
“Voters’ call for tax cuts puts all other parties in a bind,” says John Pemberton, the ‘Democrats for social credit’ Finance Spokesman.
“If Labour does a back track just before the election, it will be seen as vote buying. If they continue to ignore the growing expectation of tax cuts by voters they will be seen as a government turning a blind eye and a deaf ear to the will of the people.
“National and the other parties supporting tax cuts must front up and state which part of health and education they will cut to fund their promises. This is not a good look when voters have been continually demanding better health and education systems.
“National certainly cannot chant their past mantras about achieving higher growth to fund their promises as they have been the party of low growth in years gone by.”
John Pemberton claims all parties, using the same old policies, will continue to achieve the same frustrating results, and that fresh ideas are urgently needed.
The Democrats for social credit will introduce a small Financial Transaction Tax (FTT) over a wider tax base, to replace the narrower focused and unfair Goods & Services Tax (GST).
“The collection of FTT will be simpler, more efficient and drastically reduce compliance costs – just as good as a tax cut,” John Pemberton says.
“With the Democrats for social credit we can have our cake and eat it too.”
