"Destiny Candidate Outlines Student Loan Policy"
Destiny New Zealand's policy of students paying zero interest on student loans for courses in a field of study relevant to New Zealand's social, cultural and economic needs and goals was presented to the Petone Environment and Peace Centre forum on Wednesday night.
When quizzed, David Knight, Destiny New Zealand candidate for Hutt South said, "We did not wait until 50 days out from an election to make our position clear. We published it in our manifesto months ago. We recognise that while we cannot have the taxpayer fund bogus courses, we will support students whose studies are relevant to the goals needs of society."
Ensuring our tertiary students are not burdened with a lifetime of debt is central to Destiny New Zealand's Student Loan Policy. "We want our students to graduate, buy houses and have strong, empowered and prosperous families, building wealth for their children and grandchildren."
