Maori Party Billboard Hypocrisy

Maori Party Billboard Hypocrisy

Destiny New Zealand Tainui candidate Hadyn Solomon has described the Maori Party's cry of foul play over the defacing of their billboards as hypocritical.

In June Maori Party members defaced a Destiny New Zealand billboard located at the Telstra-Clear Pacific Events Centre, inflicting over $1,100.00 worth of damage. At the time the Maori Party was using the venue to launch their election campaign and took exception to the Destiny New Zealand billboard.

"We received a call from motorists who observed Maori Party members defacing our billboard during their use of the Events Centre. Our Party President went to the venue and captured photographic evidence of the damage being inflicted and subsequently laid a complaint with the Police. We have also provided evidence to the Maori Party but have been frustrated by their lack of response," says Mr Solomon.

Mr Solomon also pointed out that damage costs were compounded with the loss of critical advertising opportunity based on their contract with the Events Centre.
