8, 000, 000 Quit Chinese Communist Party

Eight million have withdrawn from the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and a march is planned down Queen Street Auckland to encourage more to quit.

Organised by the NZ Quit CCP Service Centre and The Epoch Times, an independent newspaper with both Chinese and English versions, supporters will rally and march on Auckland's Queen Street on Saturday, February 18.

Hailed as an historical event by the chief editor of The NZ English Epoch Times, Sam Murphy says the march against the CCP is an important and historical occasion.

"The CCP is a very dangerous regime, and the brave people who are standing up against it are courageous heroes," he said.

The wave of renunciations follow the publication of the book, ‘Nine Commentaries on the Communist Party,' released by The Epoch Times in November of 2004, just over one year ago.

The Nine Commentaries outline the background and philosophy of the CCP in unprecedented depth, and although the CCP does not allow the book to be distributed in China, it has shocked Chinese around the world initiating mass withdrawals from the CCP.

“The CCP is a very violent regime, which cannot be trusted," said Murphy. “The brutal communist regime in control of a country as huge as China, that is willing to kill it’s own people to maintain power, is a very serious threat to people all over the world,” he added.

He calls for all and sundry to march from Aotea and join planned activities on the day.

"All are invited to be present during the activities to mark the withdrawals. It is a unique opportunity to fundamentally help make this world a better place."

WHERE: Aotea Square, Queen Street, Auckland.

WHEN: 12.30pm, Saturday 18th February 2006
