SOLO-NZ Press Release: Are the Sheeple Awakening?
November 19, 2007
It's not often one wakes up to a newspaper headline indicating progress in the relentless battle against our relentless Nanny State, observes SOLO Principal Lindsay Perigo.
"Yet there it is this morning, given pride of place on the front page of one of New Zealand's leading dailies (and incidentally one of its most state-worshipping), The Dominion Post: 'Hands off our lives say voters.'
"The story beneath the headline reports a Fairfax Media-Nielsen poll in which 57% of respondents say the government has more control over their lives than they would like and 61% say that control has increased over the past two years.
"This is a reassuring development," says Perigo, "coinciding as it does with the attempt by Comrades Clark and Cullen to ban freedom of speech and association all through election year. New Zealanders in their tens of thousands should reinforce the message on Wednesday by joining the midday march against this fascist legislation. Then they should set about beating the evil bitch back on all other fronts, permanently!"
