PRESS STATEMENT FOR RELEASE

26 September 08

Family Party pre-election Conference
Sat 27th September 10am – 2pm
Metro Theatre, 351 Massey Rd, Mangere

This Saturday the Family Party will hold its pre-election conference at the Metro Theatre 351 Massey Road, Mangere, commencing at 10am.

The party will outline priority policies and showcase its candidates.

Party leader Richard Lewis says the conference is the culmination of nearly 12 months building the organisation towards its first election.

“We have every confidence of being well positioned for the final six weeks of campaigning. Our goal to win Mangere and/or East Coast Bays has been our focus and of course, the Family Party will be pushing for a strong party-vote showing,” says Mr Lewis.

This week the party commenced a major billboard campaign around Auckland and looks forward to maximising its airtime and funding.

Conference speakers will include Mr Lewis, deputy leader Paul Adams, Mangere candidate Galumalemana Jerry Filipaina, and the party spokesman on the environment, Samuel Dennis (Selwyn). The event will include food and entertainment from 2008 Pacific Music Urban Award Winners, Cydel.

“The Family Party message is simple. We aim to reinstate traditional family values and to put families first again in Parliament. Our policies are wide-ranging with a specific family focus. Together with excellent candidates, I believe the Family Party presents a compelling package for values-voters come November 8,” he added.
