Nick Kelly’s statement on the Workers’ Party: What really happened?
2007 Workers Party Wellington City Mayoral Candidate and long serving Party activitist Nick Kelly has issued a public statement about the expulsion of Student President Jasmine Freemantle, and the disintegration of the Workers Party in 2009.

This statement claims that:
1. The Flag burning by Joel Cosgrove and friends at Victoria University was for cynical self serving reasons, and nothing to do with building an anti war movement
2. Shows that the Workers Party attitude towards Tertiary students in backwards
3. That the Workers Party is not realistic in its strategies for organising workers, preferring dogma and slogans to a program that could bring results
4. Confirming the disgraceful actions by the Workers Party during the VUWSA & Unite staff pay negotiations
5. That Jasmine Freemantle's expulsion from the Workers Party was driven more by personal motivations and grudges than for political reasons.
