Grey Power Sick Of Rates Rising Above CPI.

Grey Power New Zealand Are Incensed At Local Body Councils Who Have Rate Increases Running Well Into Two Digits, Every Year Of The Next Three, And Will Be Talking To Hon Rodney Hide On This Subject,Along With Local Government NZ, On 25th June.

The Rates Rebate Has Been Rated Out Of Use By Local Government Rises In The Last Two Years And The Only Answer Is To Have Local Government Adhere To Inflation Increases Or Use Binding Citizens Referendum For Any Project Outside Core Business.

If Councils Will Not Approve Rates Within CPI Then Grey Power Suggests The Minister Of Local Government Cancel The LTCCP’s Of Such Councils And Ensure The Very Costly Second Try Is Within CPI.
