Bethells Beach Te Henga leads the world on 350 action

On Sunday 4 October, beautiful Bethells Beach Te Henga will host one of the first events leading into the global 350 Day of Action later in October. Held at iconic places across the planet, the Day of Action on October 24 will send a simple message to global leaders preparing for the United Nations Climate Change Conference in Copenhagen in December: The concentration of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere has to be reduced back to 350 parts per million, or the planet will change irrevocably. The goal at Bethells Beach Te Henga is to bring 350 people together on Sunday 4 Oct at 11am to bodily form the numbers 350. Participants will wear white shirts to contrast with the beautiful black west coast sands.

Visual records of the Bethells Beach Te Henga event will be sent around the world to encourage more people to take action on October 24.

Already, there are more than 1500 different events registered in over 110 countries for the event on October 24. There will also be a Schools Day of Action on Friday 23 October.

Directions The Bethells/Te Henga turnoff is at the Swanson end of the Scenic Drive. Proceed towards the beach and follow signs reading 350 PARKING to a parking place on private land. From there follow arrows to the meeting place at the Bethells Café.
