Contractors hail “clear and decisive” infrastructure plan
The New Zealand Contractors’ Federation has hailed the launch of the Government’s 20-year National Infrastructure plan as a vital step to grow the economy.
The Federation had lobbied for a long term plan and Chief Executive Jeremy Sole said the programme provides a planning horizon that will give civil construction businesses more confidence to develop capacity and invest in training and innovation.
“You can’t grow an economy with all its arteries clogged up and this is a clear and decisive step towards enabling infrastructure-led growth,” said Mr Sole.
“It provides an integrated view of the infrastructural investment and development that is required to get NZ once again growing, achieving its potential and punching above its weight on the world stage.”
