Potential Electoral Act Breach by Shore Voice
Citizens & Ratepayers has brought to the attention of Independent Election Services a potential breach of the Local Electoral Act 2001 by the Labour Party aligned local body ticket Shore Voice.
C&R understands Shore Voice is distributing an email survey which offers voters the chance to win a $15,000 prize if they participate in the survey.
This activity has been referred to Electoral Officer, Mr Dale Ofsoske. John Slater, President of C&R, understands Mr Ofsoske has referred the issue to Police for investigation. "We commend Mr Osofske for his prompt and professional handling of this matter.
"C&R believes democracy is paramount in our
society and we will offer total assistance and cooperation
with the appropriate authorities to determine an early
resolution of this matter to ensure the integrity of the
upcoming election results."
