National may govern alone says Nat MP

National may not even need a coalition partner after the next election says Nikki Kaye, the party’s member for Auckland Central.

The confident Nat suggested her team may not need to team up with anyone else in a debate which screens on Stratos TV (Freeview channel 21) at 7:30pm this evening.

Kaye goes head-to-head against Labour rising star and spokesperson for employment and youth affairs Jacinda Ardern in “Citizen A”.

Citizen A host Bomber Bradbury says the debate gets extremely heated.

The debate is the first of three scheduled between the pair on ‘Citizen A’. Tonight’s debate questions what Auckland central needs and how to provide it focusing on infrastructure, environment and who can work best for Auckland.

The other two debates will be in June and just prior to the election – if the pair agree to return. Bomber says the next time they will look at which party is best for Auckland – or if neither National nor Labour are the answer.

Citizen A is a weekly show on Stratos TV looking at current political media issues from an Auckland perspective. With a revolving panel of bloggers and Auckland opinion shapers, the show offers an up-to-date half hour review of the major issues of the current week.
