Women’s health and human rights expert returns

Women’s health and human rights expert returns to New Zealand

New Zealand born human rights campaigner Anne Firth Murray is visiting her home country and delivering a seminar for Auckland women.

The Nobel prize nominee and Stanford University biology professor is the author of two books Paradigm Found: Leading and Managing for Positive Change and From Outrage to Courage: Women Taking Action for Health and Justice.

Anne is the founder of the world’s largest women’s rights non-profit organisation, Global Fund for Women.

She will be leading a workshop on Wednesday 4th May at the Meadowbank Community Centre.

"Having an opportunity to meet with women committed to helping each other is always exciting and interesting to me.

“I look forward very much to working with the Liberty to Be Me Foundation and to meeting other dedicated women who are trying to increase women's ability to fully participate in and transform their communities," says Anne.

Host organisation, The Liberty of Being Me Foundation founder, Penny Stevens says that the workshop is a unique opportunity.

“The purpose of the workshop is to work with small groups to help women identify what we truly want to do with our lives, what differences they want to make in our communities, and how we can plan for this,” says Penny.

The workshop will take place from 10am to 2pm on Wednesday 4th May at 29 St John’s Rd, Meadowbank.
