Protesters disagree with 'ugly' label
The protesters who staged last night's driving protest around Wellington Airport last night, against the proposed WELLYWOOD sign, disagree with CEO Steve Fitzgerald's "ugly" "pack mentality" label.
Protest organiser Andy Boreham says the rally last night was peaceful, law-abiding, and fair. "We said we'd protest peacefully from 6 - 7pm, and that's what we did. Our protest ended shortly before 7pm so that normal airport operations could resume," he says.
Boreham says Mr Fitzgerald is "resorting to amateur tactics to try and undermine the movement against his sign and label us as bullies". "It's the obvious defence of someone who is clearly losing control of public momentum."
The protest group is planning their next strategic move, with details to be released shortly.
