Governor-General Farewells Northland
Governor-General, Sir Anand Satyanand, and Lady Susan Satyanand will begin a two-day visit to Northland tomorrow (Friday 27 May). This will be a special opportunity for Sir Anand and Lady Susan to farewell the region which they have visited on a number of occasions during their five-year term.
During their stay they will visit four schools, and officially open the new multi-purpose Northland Events Centre. They will also plant a tree on the Treaty Grounds at Waitangi – a tradition for Governors-General and visiting members of the Royal Family.
