AQNZ welcomes Sustainable Farming Fund
Aquaculture New Zealand has welcomed Government moves to open the Sustainable Farming Fund to aquaculture.
Chief Executive Mike Burrell said today’s joint announcement by Minister of Agriculture David Carter and Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture Phil Heatley, would provide opportunities for aquaculture operators to invest in projects that will deliver economic and environmental benefits to the wider industry.
“The SFF will allow New Zealand marine farmers to invest further in sustainable development,” Mr Burrell said.
“Environmental sustainability, market development, science and innovation are key pillars to the New Zealand Aquaculture Strategy.
“Funds like the SFF provide further opportunities for aquaculture to invest in new technologies and systems that will ensure sustained and sustainable growth.”
