Beatson Interview Special – Mayor Len Brown – A Year In Review
Len Brown’s the mayor who wants to make Auckland the world’s most liveable city. 12 months ago, he won an overwhelming majority to get on with the job. So – where is he now?
The Mayor will be in the chair for a full 30 minutes on the next Beatson Interview to account for his first year at the helm of New Zealand’s largest local authority. Veteran current affairs interviewer David Beatson will be asking Len Brown to list the highs and lows of the super council’s start-up – and about its frequently fractious relationship with central government in Wellington – his city’s ability to foot the multi-billion dollar costs it will take to turn his vision into a reality – and the tough challenges Auckland faces in the next year, when the super city bills start coming home to ratepayers and residents.
Beatson Interview screens 7.00pm Monday October 17 on Triangle and 8.00pm Tuesday October 18 on Stratos Television.
