ALCP endorse Pirate Party policy

ALCP endorse Pirate Party policy

The Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party has issued a statement of solidarity with the Pirate Party today.

"It is a pity that they only have 159 of the required 500 members to register their party," said ALCP deputy leader Michael Britnell.

"The ALCP endorse pirate party policy. Freedom on the internet is just as important as in the physical world."

ALCP support the legalisation of internet file-sharing as well as the right to anonymous internet surfing.

"Internet users do not give their consent to be spied on," Mr Britnell said.

"Cannabis prohibition has been used to build a state surveillance apparatus and warrantless search and seizure powers in the real world."

"The rise in popularity of internet file-sharing is being used to increase digital surveillance and spying on internet activity."
