Berry Welcomes National Candidate to Tamaki Race  

“I welcome a further dilution of the status quo vote in Tamaki with the selection of Simon O’Connor as the National Party candidate,” says Independent candidate for Tamaki, Stephen Berry. “His candidacy further cements my place in Tamaki as the only candidate for individual freedom seeking the electorate vote in Tamaki this election.”

Berry believes if Simon O’Connor wins the seat this election, it will continue a Tamaki tradition of electing lacklustre, do-nothing representatives. “Clem Simich’s single achievement was to become Speaker while Allan Peachy only became notable when he announced his resignation.

Now it would appear that O’Connor, a failed Catholic priest, aspires to ensure a future of mediocre conservative representation for the people of Tamaki.”

“The 2011 election is a fantastic opportunity for the voters of Tamaki to ditch the habit of half a century and elect someone who stands for something other than being a silent vote for increased Government power. It is clear that another vote for another National candidate will only get them three more years of the same.”
