Hui on Lake Waikaremoana

NGATI RUAPANI PRESS RELEASE

The tangata whenua of Lake Waikaremoana, Ngati Ruapani, are holding a regional hui on 8 September to discuss the development of a framework to deal with the Crown’s consultation on the sale of Electricity Assets. Vern Winitana organised the meeting to bring together affected iwi and hapu throughout the Hawke’s Bay region.

Mr Winitana said:

Ngati Ruapani support the New Zealand Maori Council but believe that full engagement between iwi and hapu and the Crown is vital to reach resolution.

The hui will commence at Te Kuha Marae, Tuia, Lake Waikaremoana at 9.30am.
