Hui on Lake Waikaremoana

The tangata whenua
of Lake Waikaremoana, Ngati Ruapani, are holding a regional
hui on 8 September to discuss the development of a framework
to deal with the Crown’s consultation on the sale of
Electricity Assets. Vern Winitana organised the meeting to
bring together affected iwi and hapu throughout the
Hawke’s Bay region.
Mr Winitana said:
Ngati Ruapani support the New Zealand Maori Council but believe that full engagement between iwi and hapu and the Crown is vital to reach resolution.
The hui will commence at Te Kuha Marae, Tuia, Lake Waikaremoana at 9.30am.
