Maori Council File Appeal In Water Case
Press Release from New Zealand Maori
Council
The New Zealand
Maori Council and the Waikato River and Dams Claims Trust
have filed their appeal against Tuesday's decision of
Justice Young in the water claim case.
The appellants are keen to have the case heard before both the Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court. However, the Crown has stated its concern that in order to meet the proposed asset sale timetable only a direct appeal to the Supreme Court is available.
The Hearing is due to take place on 31 January and 1 February 2013 in Wellington.
