ISSUED BY AFFORDABLE CITY

Announcement

Affordable City Elects Leadership Team

Affordable City held its inaugural AGM on Saturday 6 July at Galbraith’s Alehouse in Auckland. At the AGM, the party constitution which established the leadership triumvirate was approved and the Leader, Deputy Leader and President were elected.

Affordable City is the local body political party umbrella currently covering six Affordable parties around the country. These are located in Auckland, Masterton, Porirua, Wellington, Hutt City and Invercargill. More are to be announced closer to the election.

Leader of Affordable City is Stephen Berry, a 30 year old food retail manager living in Eden Terrace, Auckland. His last attempt at a local body position was as the Libertarianz candidate for Mayor of Auckland in 2004. This election he is standing as Affordable Auckland’s candidate in Waitemata & Gulf.

Deputy Leader is Heidi Bale, a 31 year old administrator from West Auckland. She was previously involved in the Act party, having worked in a parliamentary support role for Sir Roger Douglas.

Craig Milmine was elected President of Affordable City. He is a 35 year old school teacher currently residing in Wellington. Craig has been a past President of the Libertarianz party.

Stephen Berry says, “I’m excited to be part of dynamic new team offering real political alternatives to voters in the upcoming local body elections. With our recent surge in membership and the enthusiasm of our support, I know the present crop of councillors have plenty to worry about this October.”
