Cybersecurity strikers target G20: Symantec
Symantec has warned the upcoming G20 Summit is an attractive target for the ‘Flea attack group’ – malicious cybersecurity strikers.
The group has been circulating mischievous emails throughout 2014 in anticipation of the Brisbane event. Targets include international economic organisations as well as a group connected to multiple monetary authorities. Once the attackers have compromised their target’s computers, they identify and steal valuable information from them – which could prove to be a major issue for G20 organisers.
We have a Symantec security expert available to discuss the threat, and you can read Symantec’s blog post here.
In addition, Symantec’s G20 Threat Intelligence has shown the most potentially damaging activity targeting the G20 involves state-sponsored intrusions and spying, and that expected cyber-attacks include website defacement and Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks.
