New housing data within a matter of months – Housing Minister
Speaking on TV One’s Q+A programme this morning the Housing Minister Nick Smith acknowledged in an interview with our reporter Michael Parkin that new data regarding who is buying Auckland property is only a matter of months away.
NICK: In my view, that was a wrong thing for Labour to do when they knew that reliable data is only a matter of months.
MICHAEL: And so when do we see the data?
NICK: The legislation is before Parliament right now. It’s due to be passed on 1st of October. Within a matter of months, we’ll have more reliable data.
MICHAEL: How many months?
NICK: Oh, look, I’m not the Minister for either IRD or Land Information-
MICHAEL: When do you think, given the heat that’s in this argument-?
NICK: Within a matter of months
