Bennett should look in the mirror to see a real bully

Social Housing Minister Paula Bennett’s accusation of bullying against SHAN protestors yesterday is ironic coming from the person leading government attacks on beneficiaries and state house tenants.

“Bennett should be looking in the mirror to identify a real bully.”

SHAN will continue our campaign to expose IHC as colluding with the most appalling National government policy – the sale of state houses.

“We were astonished yesterday the huge support from Wellingtonians for our protest. The vast majority of people are appalled at the government’s treatment of families on low incomes and angry at the proposed sale of state houses”

SHAN is committed to defeat this government policy and require the government to begin a state house building programme to ensure every family has a quality, affordable home.

“Bennett’s government has the resources and capacity to solve the housing crisis for families on low incomes but instead of raising a finger to help she’s raising a finger showing contempt for the victims of her policies.”
