Kiwis think New Zealand’s future is equality, safe and clean; Do you agree?

Social Movement, Eudoo, has been surveying Kiwis over the last month to define the future identity of the nation, and so far the top answers are equality, safe, and clean.

In the midst of the costly flag referendum, Eudoo, a social movement, decided to give the power back to New Zealanders by inviting them to be a democratic think tank to help shape the future of our country. The flag referendum didn’t give New Zealand a unified vision, goal or purpose as a country, so Eudoo stepped in.

Jake Pearce, founder of the movement, said ‘We put the flag before the horse. Crowd sourcing a vision for the nation is a world first and we’re looking forward to seeing the movement grow to other countries. We’re stoked that over a thousand of kiwis have given theirs, but we’d love to hear from more people”.

Taking part in the movement only takes a few minutes of your time and six words. In three words, describe New Zealand as is. In another three, describe how you want New Zealand to be in the future.

Working internationally as a semiotics expert, Jake is on a mission to create a completely apolitical forum to help real New Zealanders decide how they see our nation, and to decide a vision for where our country may end up in the future.

He continued “There are no wrong answers - the only way you can go wrong is by not being heard. When we have enough feedback, we can begin to build a collective voice and see what New Zealanders want from this country. We want to create a singular vision, one we can all agree to move towards as a collective community.”

Governments always focus on the short term so they often neglect the big picture. Eudoo’s goal is to discover our three future words, make the three future words public and find the 'big idea' to drive this vision so it becomes a reality. We can’t rely on any government to think longterm - whatever their politics, politics is a short term game. The aim is for this to become a shared vision people believe in and get behind. Eudoo don't know all the answers yet, but we have the drive to give it a go.
