Youth lobby group Generation Zero are disappointed by the 2017 budget which ‘ignores Auckland’
“The Government continues to ignore the infrastructure problems facing Auckland” Says Leroy Beckett, the groups Auckland Director.
“There is no new money in the budget to fix Aucklands gridlock, which will only get worse under this budget. One of the biggest issues facing our biggest city has been completely ignored today by Steven Joyce” warns Beckett.
“Reannouncing partial funding for the City Rail Link is the least they could do. The city urgently needs investment in the major public transport projects planned out in the Auckland Transport Alignment Project. Important projects in the government's own plans for Aucklands transport like the much needed Northwestern busway remain unfunded.”
