Samoan language guides for NZ Citizenship launched
Samoan language guides for NZ Citizenship launched
Samoans wanting to apply for NZ Citizenship can now get help from a new resource developed by The Department of Internal Affairs.
The Citizenship team have developed a Samoan version of the guide notes for grant forms and it’s been published just in time for Samoan Language week!
Knowledge of the English language isn’t a legislative requirement to grant Samoans citizenship under the Citizenship (Western Samoa) Act 1982 so to help our Samoan applicants to have a better understanding of the requirements, a version of the application form was created as an option for these applicants to refer to.
You can see who can apply here https://www.govt.nz/browse/nz-passports-and-citizenship/getting-nz-citizenship/apply-for-nz-citizenship/#citizenship-if-youre-from-samoa and read the new notes here https://www.govt.nz/assets/Documents/Citizenship/application-for-nz-citizenship-samoan-adult-child-samoan-language.pdf
