Jacinda Facebook Win

Jacinda Facebook win

The Folk Today Project, Wellington, ran politically-targeted Facebook advertising through the last week of August.

Their aim was to publicise their climate change music video.

Post-anaylsis shows that far more people saw the Jacinda-headlined advertisement than saw the advertisements that mentioned Bill English and Winston Peters. The reach was Jacinda 6960, Bill 931 and Winston 2001.

Conclusion: Jacinda voters use Facebook a lot more than National and New Zealand First voters do. Potential conclusion: Facebook users are more likely to be younger. Jacinda could be tieing up the youth vote.

The advertisements ran for one week starting August 22. The target was people in New Zealand aged 18+ whose interests include the Green Party, New Zealand First, the Labour Party or the National Party. The estimated daily reach was up to 2,500.
