Generation Zero welcomes Bridges’ support for Climate Change Commission
Generation Zero welcomes the recent announcement by Opposition Leader Simon Bridges that he wants to take the politics out of climate change and work with other Parties to create an Independent Climate Change Commission.
“We commend Simon Bridges for his leadership on this issue. Working together is the only way we can really tackle the challenge of climate change,” said Zero Carbon Act Spokesperson Lisa McLaren.
“Young people from diverse communities around Aotearoa New Zealand have long been calling for politicians to work together to address climate change. It is encouraging to see that they are listening.”
“The success of the United Kingdom’s Climate Act shows that if political parties work together, we can reduce emissions, transform our society for the better and create a safe climate future for everyone.”
