of Command Ceremony
The Chief of Defence Force Change of Command ceremony took place today at Pukeahu National War Memorial Park.

The outgoing Chief of
Defence Force, Lieutenant General Tim Keating, was
farewelled with a Guard of Honour, followed by a
wreathlaying at the Tomb of the Unknown Warrior.
Dame
Sian Elias, in her capacity as the Administrator of the
Government, presided over the promotion and presentation of
the warrant of appointment to the incoming Chief of Defence
Force, Air Marshal Kevin Short.
Following this, Air
Marshal Short received a pōwhiri and welcome parade. He
then took part in the daily Last Post ceremony.
Attendees
included Minister of Defence and Veterans Ron Mark,
Secretary of Defence Helene Quilter, and Vice Admiral David
Johnston representing the Australian Defence Force.
