Roger Watkin To Stand For Porirua-Tawa Seat On Regional Council

“When I stood for Greater Wellington Regional Council in 2019 I said I was in for the long haul win, lose or draw. I am pleased to announce I am standing again to represent the people from Tawa to Pukerua Bay in the Porirua Electorate,” says Roger Watkin.

He says he was hugely encouraged by the support he received at the last election and has stayed actively involved in our communities and kept up to speed with ongoing issues as well as a host of new challenges.

“I have had decades of experience running successful businesses from Tawa to Plimmerton and the regular interaction with the public has been crucial in understanding the primary issues that impact our communities.”

Mr Watkin says recent announcements regarding central government funding of public transport for our region are great news and it is vital that our part of the region receives optimum funding for existing services and for expanded bus routes and quality infrastructure.

“I am a decision maker and I take responsibility. It is vital to have fully accountable representation and I can assure the people of this electorate that I will continue to build constructive relationships on your behalf.”
