Mitsubishi joins the fray
Another of New Zealand’s leading new vehicle distributors has entered EnergyWise Rally 2004, an event which is designed to highlight the impressive fuel efficiency and environmental friendliness of today’s new cars.
Mitsubishi New Zealand has entered a Lancer ES, to be driven by the company’s Technical Services Manager Lloyd Robinson.
The Lancer is likely to be a ‘dark horse’ in the event as it challenges for supremacy in the compact car class. With a low-stressed, flexible two litre engine in a relatively small car, the Lancer will make light work of the hills, twists and turns of the more tortuous sections of the route.
Driver Robinson is not to be underestimated either. In the 2002 EnergyWise Rally, he put in an impressive performance to win his class in a 3.5 litre Mitsubishi Diamante.
Up to 40 cars are expected to participate in the event, which is sponsored by EECA (Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority), and supported by Gull Petroleum and the NZ Automobile Association, along with LeasePlan.
