Software helps intranet users peek inSIDE

PRESS RELEASE

Local company Liverton has secured another key customer for its homegrown integrated intranet Employee Staff List, Structured Floor Plan, and Organisation Chart software, inSIDE.

inSIDE, which was a contributing factor in the Ministry of Transport intranet winning a place in the Nielsen Norman Group's Ten Best Intranets in the world for 2008 this year, has now also been selected by the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Trade.

According to Richard Bourne of Liverton, “inSIDE allows staff to find details and photos of about other staff, including seating plans, and organisation charts with the click of a mouse. It is easy to see where people fit into the organisation and with whom they work. One of the systems features is the ease with which it can be updated. inSIDE has been described recently as an intranet ‘killer app’ at the Enterprise 2.0 conference in Australia.”

“Increased efficiency, better communication and even improved security of your premises are all potential benefits of using Liverton's inSIDE. It will enhance a culture of communication and co-operation” says Bourne
MFAT plan to expand inSIDE to include all worldwide sites.

InSIDE can be integrated with Active Directory or HR systems so that staff details and seating positions dynamically change as the other systems are updated, or it can be run standalone.

The potential local and international market for intranet ‘killer apps’ is huge, and although New Zealand is typically reserved about its achievements, adding value to one of the top 10 intranets in the world for 2008 is not that bad!
